I literally don’t have the space for any more physical books, but I’ve downloaded every Underrealm book on Kindle. I read The Alchemist’s Touch specifically because of this post and I seriously can’t recommend the Underrealm books enough. they are absolutely fantastic.
I don’t really read anymore, not like i used to. And of i get a masters this year like i am planning to then that isn’t going to change. But hell yes I’m going to go and buy these books because THIS is exactly the kind of thing that i want to support!

did you know we have a podcast now and you can literally listen to the books for free.
(You probably didn’t. That’s okay because it’s very new).
It’s slower than buying and reading them, but it’s great if you have no book budget but you do have some listening time!
You could also beg your local library to get them. Just saying.
Asking your library to stock a book for you to read is one of the most helpful things you can possibly do for an author.
I think that World of Darkness is the best example we have of utterly squandered and abused source material when it comes to mishandling. I can't think of another popular IP (more toward the video games, the TTRPG has its genuine WTF moments too) with so many high profile failures. Even the shining star, VtM: Bloodlines, was launched as an utter failure as far as glitches and rushed development, poor timing, etc. (And VtM:B is one of my all-time favorite games.)
World of Darkness (the MMO) appears to have been brought extremely far along in development with passionate developers before a messy cancellation. A whole ass MMORPG.
VtM: Bloodhunt is shutting down live service after a lackluster launch, due to the bizarre idea of making a battle royale game based on a series that people love for its story... after the battle royale genre was already over saturated, to boot.
WtA: Earthblood was uh, a game.
WtO: Afterlife was uh, a game. A VR game no less, which really says all you need to know about the depth of it. I didn't hate it, but it was gimmicky as VR titles tend to be. And IMO it neither served as a good entry point to Wraith nor did it seem at all like a love letter to it.
VtM: Bloodlines 2, obviously, has one of the messiest development situations I've ever heard of in a AAA title. They fired all of the original writers from the first game in a very messy and cruel fashion, then they end up firing the entire development studio that was working on the game, (while still taking preorders for years) and now it's in a limbo where us WoD fans are literally happy just to see an announcement that there will be an announcement about it.
And we've got an announcement for another VtM game, VR this time! Woohoo! It's like they see that people who own VR headsets will buy anything that comes out because the game pool is so small.
It's funny to me that the only worthwhile WoD games are the text based ones (Choice Of, the New York visual novels, etc)
There are SO many failures and even the greatest successes are niche or require a fanmade mod to work.
Why the hell is this IP so cursed? World of Darkness is like, worse than Neopets. All we need are VtM Clan NFTs.
